Proving once again that the entertainment business is tough no matter who you are, Beyoncé Knowles has fired her father from his job as her manager.

THC reports that the star, 29, blames her father, former Destiny’s Child manager Matthew Knowles, for booking her controversial million-dollar performance for the Gadhafi family’s 2009 New Year’s Eve party. Details of the Gadhafi family’s lavish private parties were revealed by Wikileaks, with Usher, Nelly Furtado, Mariah Carey, 50 Cent among the stars revealed to have received large sums of money for appearing at the events.
Beyoncé has since claimed that she was not aware that the party was affiliated with the embattled Libyan dictator’s family and that when she learned of the connection she donated the money she received to a charity assisting with aid work following the devastating earthquake in Haiti.
“Ultimately, Matthew Knowles should be accountable for that decision, and I do accept responsibility,” she said in an interview with Billboard following the Gadhafi scandal.
Seeing as though the other ex-Destiny’s Child singers all eventually fired Knowles even after he helped them launch successful solo careers, this professional split between father and daughter may have been inevitable. (Although we’re pretty sure it was caused by the Gadhafi PR nightmare.)
Maybe Beyoncé should turn over her the management of her multi-million dollar career in music, fashion, and film to another multi-talented mogul and his company: husband Jay-Z.
