Fans have the Blues as The Streets Release their Final Album

The album Computer and Blues is finally set for release, labeled as the last ever by The Streets. Original reports claimed that the new album was similar to the iconic Berlin by Lou Reed, however Mike Skinner has since stated that he was misquoted and the album sounds like the city of Berlin instead.

With Chinese whispers and misquotes running unbridled one thing is for sure Skinner has our attention. In fact via social media outlets he has had the attention of many, with numerous releases of tracks announced via Twitter.

In April 2009 three tracks were posted and since then ten more have been released on bln.kr or 2share.net. Also the video for He’s Behind You, He’s Got Swine Flu was posted on YouTube.

Finally a compilation of these tracks and some new additions are to be released under the title Computer and Blues due in February 2010.

The group’s website calls it “45 minutes of 130 bpm style straight spittin.” It is believed that Skinner aims to restore The Streets to its former glory akin to Original Pirate Material days, before he quits.
