Plenty of musicians have ventured in the realm of acting hoping for success. Usually we’re treated to a mediocre performance at best since there forte lies with their music, and other times we’re pleasantly surprised and they become a reoccurring presence in plenty of films. And there are moments where movies come out under the radar and a musician sneaks his way in (Winn-Dixie has Dave Matthews as a folk musician who can talk to pets).
...Sunk my Battleship.
Hopefully Rihanna knows what she’s doing as she is making her first steps into her new acting career. As for the movie itself, it’s kind of a bizarre choice, but awesome nonetheless. Producer Peter Berg has put together a movie entitled Battleship, which at first would suggest some sort of war movie, but it turns out the entire premise of the film is based upon the board game…Battleship.
Other than her work in music videos for her own career and that of artists she has combined forces with, her work in Battleship will be entirely new territory. There is no word yet on what role she will play in the film, but being as it is an action film about the earth defending itself by land, air, and sea, expect Rihanna to be under fire.
